A LOOK INTO NEXT WEEK:
Reading: We will finish reading novels written in verse. May Book
Projects are due on Friday, May 18th.
English/Writing: Present Identity Boxes. Test over Unit 3:
Verbs on Tuesday, May 15th.
Religion: Finish Benziger Family Life
Math: We will work on various Geometry Skills. The math letters will be
mailed out either today (5/11) or Monday. Each child will receive a
letter stating which Math group they will be placed in for next year.
Mad Minute Schedule will be:
Monday (addition after school)
Tuesday (Subtraction at recess)
Wednesday (Multiplication at recess)
Thursday (Division afterschool)
Science: Chapter 11: Forces and Motion. All missing/late work must be
turned in no later than Wednesday, May 16th!
Social Studies: We will finish Great State Race presentations. We
will have a map quiz over the 50 states on Tuesday,
May 15th. On Monday, 5/14, my classroom will be open from 3:15-
3:45 for extra review for the map quiz.
Spelling/Vocabulary: Unit 16 Vocabulary Test on
Friday,May 18th.

Extra Credit Opportunity.....Please answer the questions below on a piece of loose leaf. Put your name on the paper and the subject you would like the extra credit to be added to. You can only choose subjects that I teach. If the subject is not written on your paper, extra credit will not be given. This paper should be on my desk by 8:15 AM Monday morning!

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
1. PAPER TOWELS: We are almost completely out of paper towels! Looking ahead to cleaning day, we are going to be in need of some more. If you would be willing to donate any paper towels to our classroom it would be greatly appreciated.
2. SCHOOL UNIFORM: Please make sure to check the handbook to review the school uniform policies.
3. ST. STEPHEN THE MARTYR BASKETBALL CAMP: There is a flyer going home about the SSM basketball camp that will be held May 29-June 1. If you wish to participate, registration forms will be due on May 18th. I have also attached the registration as an attachment at the bottom of the newsletter.
4. GREAT STATE RACE: We are FINALLY ready to launch our website! We still have a little bit of editing to do, but we have built the basic framework for the site! We still need to add the links. Check out what we have so far! The kids have done a FANTASTIC job with the project! I was so impressed with all of their work! We will continue to update the site as the year continues.

5. EDLINE: Edline is the grading system that we use in 5th grade. It is an online grading program that allows you to check your progress throughout the quarter. You can check your overall grade in each subject as well as missing assignments. The 5th grade teachers usually update grades about every two weeks.
If you were at Curriculum Night, you should have your activation code. If you were unable to attend, your codes are being mailed to your home. Within the next couple weeks we will be updating grades. Please set up your account! This is a great way to stay up to date with your child's academics.
6. SAFETY PATROL SCHEDULE:
PLEASE REMEMBER.....
1. Morning Patrol begins at 7:40 AM and ends at 8:00 AM.
2. Afternoon Patrol begins at 3:10 PM and ends at 3:25 PM.
3. If you cannot be at your assigned duty for any reason, YOU are
responsible for finding a substitute.
4. Failure to be on duty during your assigned time will result in one
demerit.
