We started the first flashcard tournament of the year yesterday in Social Studies class! We are mastering our basic geography terms. Round 2 will begin today!
We enjoyed popsicles outside to celebrate the completion of the first full week of school!    We read the story The Dot by Peter Reynolds. It is a story about believing in yourself and believing in your Artwork. The students then created an image starting with only "one dot" on their paper. They could create their dot into whatever they wanted. The students used no pencil. They started right away with permanent markers since there could be no "mistakes" in this project. After completing their drawings, they filled in color with tempera paint.     We had a great frist week of school! We spent a lot of time getting organized and learning procedures! We also took some time to have some fun and get to know all of our classmates!
